When you start to make something with your hands,
whether it was painting, drawing, pottery, you name it,
your mind brings it's focus to that activity. You are
singularly focused on it and, in that sense, it makes it like a
meditation or mindfulness practice. The act of using our
hands and being engaged in creation also brings a sense of
alignment.
The mind starts to slow down, and the thoughts you have
are related to the energy you're putting and the activity.
You tune in with the environment, with the textures, the
colors, the sounds, you start to feel inspiration, you
connect with your senses. Also brings you a sense of
awareness, sparking reflection and aspiration.
Art is a way to bring active meditation to your day, with
no need of expectations or focus on results, but rather
the creative process.
